Me and My Experience
Aged 18 I began practicing Yoga, and having danced Ballet my whole (short!) life - it felt like a natural progression to explore how movement and my physical space could connect deeper to the feeling of discovering the sense of my concept of soul.
I have a degree in Fashion Marketing and worked in PR, and when feeling stressed, or my ADHD was loud, or if my body felt physically disconnected (often everything messily combined!) I'd lean into my Yoga practice. Sometimes I’d not roll out the mat for three months, sometimes I’d embark upon a 30 day Bikram programme - it was consistently erratic but always there!
In 2016, I didn't have much of a choice in making a life change, my body got to a point of severe burnout and my brain turned to the 500hr Yoga teacher training for an escape - an attempt at a restart. When I started teaching, I didn’t really comprehend that I’d found myself in something where working could feel authentic, I just kept 'giving it a go' and I guess, I haven't stopped.
My fascination with alternative medicines and therapies started aged 13 when GP sent me for acupuncture to try help Congenital short Tendo Calcaneus - I walked on my tip toes and had concrete calves! My legs didn't need the surgery to walk painlessly and since then, I'd always complimented traditional medicines with other things to try and support my body. The decision to train in Reiki and Indian Champissage felt such a joyful progression in my journey of ongoing learning and evolution of embodiment work.
I love being in sunshine, plunging my body into water, strong coffee, getting lost in a book, dancing everywhere, healing through poetry, gardening, taking adventures and rooting to find home where my feet land.
For now, I am based in East Ham and working in the UK, yet there’s always a voice in my head asking ‘Why not go here?’
